Redondo Beach Christmas Boat Parade

The King Harbor Yacht Club Presents the 21st Annual King Harbor Christmas Boat Parade which will be held on Saturday, December 15th from 5:30pm to 7:00pm in the main channel of King Harbor. It is FREE for anyone to view the parade all along the seawall and from various restaurants. The theme this year is “A Christmas Wish” and our Grand Marshall is Bo Derek. Santa and his elf will be visiting the Redondo Beach Marina, and the Redondo Beach Pier throughout the day and at 5 pm the Annual Christmas Boat Parade begins. The whole harbor area along Harbor Drive lights up with many of the boats in the Marina lighting their boats as well throughout the holiday season. Viewing for the actual boat parade can be seen from many of the restaurants, on the piers or along the break wall.

Santa Sleigh On The Streets Of Hermosa

The 6th Annual Santa Sleigh Ride event is coming to Hermosa Beach. Santa Claus will sleigh through the city on Wednesday, December 5 and December 12. Santa will arrive along with his helpers. He will make six stops on each of the two evenings. Santa will spend about 20 minutes at each stop, where he will take photos with residents waiting to meet him. Here is Santa’s schedule for Wednesday, Dec. 5:

6:00 p.m. – 6:20 p.m. in the 500 block of 11th Street
6:30 – 6:50 p.m. in the 1800 block of Valley Park
7 – 7:20 p.m. at 31st and Morningside Drive
7:30 – 7:50 p.m. in the 600 block of 24th Street
8 – 8:20 p.m. in the 600 and 700 block of 11th Street
8:30 – 8:50 p.m. at Pier Plaza.

Redondo Beach Holiday Tree Lighting

The 32nd annual lighting of the Christmas tree and other holiday festivities will take place at the Redondo Beach Civic Center, located at 415 Diamond St., Tuesday, Dec. 4, beginning at 5 p.m. Sponsored by the Redondo Beach Beautification Committee, the event features special guest Rick Dickert, KTTV Fox 11 meteorologist and traffic reporter. Also on hand to perform will be the Redondo Beach High School MCJROTC, the RUHS Jazz Band, Alta Vista School Choir and the RUHS Choir. Other festivities include hot chocolate and Christmas cookies, face painting for children and a visit from Santa and Sparky. Bring unwrapped toys or gift cards for the non-profit group Cheer for Children. Parking is available in the Main Library parking garage.

Redondo Riviera Holiday Stroll

Start your holiday celebrating in Riviera Village at the annual Holiday Stroll on Thursday, November 29th, from 6 to 10 pm. This wonderful collection of upscale shops will stay open late that night, offering fabulous finds and delectable treats to all. Santa will greet young revelers from 5:30 to 7 pm in the parking lot of Coffee Cartel, at the corner of Catalina and Elena. The Holiday Parade down Catalina Ave. steps off at 6pm and features local bands. Stroll with friends under twinkling lights amid holiday cheer. Take a horse-drawn carriage ride past the beautifully decorated shop windows as you’re surrounded by the sounds of the season. Best of all, you’ll feel good knowing a portion of the evening’s proceeds will be donated to Richstone Family Center. Tall Ship In Redondo Beach King Harbor

The historic tall ship Lady Washington will return to the waters of Redondo Beach on Thursday to kick off a two-week stay in King Harbor that will offer the public guided sailing adventures and walk-on ship tours. The wooden ship, a replica of the original Lady Washington that sailed in late 1700’s, is the official tall ship ambassador for the State of Washington and serves as a living history exhibit in its ports of call. The replica Lady Washington is known for its appearance as Captain Jack Sparrow’s pirate ship in the blockbuster movie Pirates of the Caribbean: Curse of the Black Pearl and, more recently, Captain Hook’s ship in an episode of the ABC television show Once Upon a Time that aired in October. During its time in the South Bay, the ship will be available to the public for self-guided walk-on tours. Three-hour adventure sails cost $39 for all ages and a $3 donation is requested for self-guided ship tours. Hermosa Holiday Sidewalk Festival

The third annual Hermosa Beach Holiday Sidewalk Festival event promises all sorts of spirited holiday fun for all ages. Local businesses, decked out in holiday decorations, will offer featured merchandise on the sidewalks in front of their stores. Stroll the many shops and restaurants in downtown Hermosa Beach Saturday during the Hermosa Beach Chamber of Commerce’s Third Annual Holiday Sidewalk Festival from 10 a.m until 6 p.m. Shoppers will be treated to a bounce house on Pier Plaza, a holiday-themed scavenger hunt with prizes from local businesses, live music, children’s activities and holiday carolers at night. Scavenger Hunt entry forms are available on the Hermosa Beach Chamber of Commerce website and will be available for pickup at participating businesses during the event.

Hermosa Beach Sidewalk Festival

The Hermosa Beach Chamber of Commerce and Visitors Bureau host the 2012 Annual Holiday Sidewalk Festivalin Downtown Hermosa Beach on Saturday, November 17 from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Spend the afternoon discovering the many fine shops, restaurants and services this classic beach town has to offer. The event will feature live music, kid’s activities, special offers from local businesses and of course, a visit from the jolly, fat man himself, Santa Claus. Also the Los Angeles Kings Ice Crew will take over Pier Plaza from 11:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. to hand out Kings prizes, and people will have a chance to win Kings autographed merchandise. There will be a holiday themed scavenger hunt, too, with entry forms available at the chamber office and participating stores during the event.
