Celebrating its fifth anniversary, dineLA brings together more than 300 local restaurants between Jan. 22-27, and Jan. 29 – Feb. 3, offering up fixed price lunch and dinner menus. There are some tasty beach cities eateries listed on the event schedule: Chart House, Bluewater Grill, Baleen, The Strand House Restaurant, Second Story at The Belamar Hotel, Mucho Ultima Mexicana, and Il Fornaio. DineLA offers three dining categories (deluxe, premier, and fine dining) with specially priced three-course meals for lunch and/or dinner at top restaurants throughout the city. The Hermosa Beach Chamber of Commerce will host the annual traditional Tree Lighting Ceremony on Thursday, December 1st at 6 PM at the foot of the Hermosa Beach Pier. The event will feature holiday carolers, a visit from Santa and Mrs.Claus the officially lighting of the Hermosa Beach Christmas Tree to help kick off the holiday season. Event goers are encouraged to bring a new unwrapped toy as part of the Beach Cities Toy Drive to benefit local charities. Over 25 local businesses will also be taking part in the holiday spirit as they host open houses as part of the monthly First Thursday which will coincide with the tree lighting festivities.
Ho! Ho! Ho! Santa Claus will be on Pier Avenue in Hermosa Beach next week just in time to take your next holiday photo. Santa will make an appearance at Gum Tree on Thursday from 4 to 9 p.m. and then Dec. 4 from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Local photographers Lauren Pressey and Victoria O’Leary will be available to take photos of visitors with Santa. All money raised from the photos will be donated to the Hermosa Beach Education Foundation. Last year about $3,600 was raised for the local group.
