The annual SKECHERS Pier to Pier Friendship Walk is an awe-inspiring event that brings together all walks of life for one common purpose; to support children with special needs and education. The walk is produced by SKECHERS USA and co-produced by The Friendship Circle. Thousands of people on Oct. 27 this year are expected to walk 3.4 miles from the Manhattan Beach Pier to the Hermosa Beach Pier and back as part of the fifth annual Pier to Pier Friendship Walk. Jimmy Kimmel will appear, also returning to the annual charity event are “Dancing with the Stars” co-host Brooke Burke-Charvet and Hall of Fame Los Angeles Dodgers manager Tommy Lasorda. According to Skechers, the event since its inception in 2009 has garnered $1.9 million in funds for education programs and the The Friendship Circle. The Friendship Circle is a program formed to bring children and young adults with special needs and their families together for networking, support, sharing and events. The programs matches special needs kid with fellow teenagers for social and athletic activities.
